holy crap, could we actually be buying a home???
today we spoke to a broker and were amazed to find out that the mortgage payments would be almost the same to what we already pay for rent!! I thought they would be more!!
it will mean that we’ll have to give up our city living and move to the ‘burbs…but we have to start somewhere, right, or at least that’s what I keep telling myself!!
if we decide to do this we still get a year of city living. might as well enjoy it while we can!
scary! feels like we are growing up!

I think its funny that when you walk into a shoe shop they look at your shoes. What, do they really think that what ever shoes you are wearing will determine wether you can afford their shoes?
Or when you walk into a clothes shop they always check out your shopping bags. I am guessing they notice how many bags and probably where you’ve been shopping. They may not take you serious if you’ve only been shopping at the dollar store or other cheapo shops…
Well perhaps not but it still seems like we are always under scrutiny. The sales people may look at you and determine whether you can afford to shop there or not. They may think that you are perhaps too fat or not cool enough. So why do we like shopping so much? Is it to make us feel better by proving them wrong? I know sometimes we may actually need to buy something but lets face it most of the time we shop for the sake of shopping.
Sometimes I wonder why I like shopping.

I had lunch in the food court at Crown Casino.
Some of us are just there to have our lunch.
There are of course a lot of tourists.
But the majority of the peeps are ‘viejitos’.
What a great way to spend your retirement funds. Especially during these tough times!

I cant believe that my 4th grade teacher was charged with inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl!!
He was strange, yes, but all teachers are!! I just cant see it. In fact I thought he was gay!!!
He is one of the few teachers I stayed in touch with up until college.
I thought he was a good teacher.

its my birthday and i can cry if i want to cry if i want to..
yeah thats right i am going to cry cuz i am getting old!
my parents called me today at 8 AM. you might think thats expected BUT my parents are terrible with the time difference. they always ring me a day too late since they are 18 hours behind AND they ring at crazy hours like 3 or 4 AM. so believe me it was some kind of miracle that they managed to ring me at a normalish time! it’s only taken them hmm 12 years!
on my way to work i felt like i should have worn some sort of sign because lets face it no one knows. or should i say no one cares. its just another day.
same at work. they had no clue. but it happens that today out of all days i had 2 people ask me how old i am! hah!
and of course there is my crazy dude. he got me this…

Thanks to facebook I have been reaquainted to old high school classmates. I never kept in touch with any of them, except for a couple, but thanks to social sites such as facebook its unavoidable nowadays. Most are doing what is expected. They are married and have families. Most of them never left town. A few moved to other cities in within the state and a couple went interstate. I left the country.
I dont think I am better then them because of it. Infact if anything I always think what I’ve done, where I am, who I am, is not good enough. I always feel like there is more to this. I want more, but what that more is, I dont know. Are we ever 100% satisfied?
I guess it doesnt matter what we do or where we are as long as we are happy. Maybe in some ways I am jealous of some of my classmates because they seem happy. Of course the question always crosses my mind. What do they think of me? Am I what they expected I would be, and wHat did they expect? Are they a tiny bitsy jealous of me?
Can you tell another birthday is around the corner! I always reflect and think of silly things!!
I guess I am sure of one thing and that is that ‘someone’ makes me happy and I am glad that ‘someone’ is a part of my life!

This year I wanted to do something a little bit different. It’s a bit abstract but I am happy with the results.

One thing that I miss about Sweden is looking up at apartment buildings and seeing these beautiful Advent Stars in the windows. They really do have some beautiful traditions there this time of year!
