New Year 2009 12:10 AM
I have to say that the years are just flying by. What ever happened to lets party like its ’1999′!! Yeah, that shows my age. haha!
I dont think I’ve done this for a while but lets reflect on the year that just passed by:
- We started 2008 in the streets of Paris.
- We went to Rome early Feb
- Mid Feb we almost missed our flight in Amsterdam (not that I would have minded)
and yes we went to a cafe
- We moved to Australia on Feb 19.
- I got my current job in March
- We finally landed ourselves an apartment in April
- We went to Hobart to get away from the Melbourne Cup crazyness
Because I had such a big start of the year the rest of it just felt slow. Moving back to Australia was a good thing but disappointing in that things were not as I remembered. You would have thought that I was away for 10 years not 2, that’s how different it felt!! Considering a lot of the things that changed were some of the major reasons why I wanted to move back and even raved about them to Jmy. Like since when was it a pain in the arse to find an apartment to rent!?? Sure its not as bad as STockholm but still a pain in the arse from my last experience. Not to mention rent is way more expensive and even buying groceries is crazy expensive. Unfortunetaly I got my job before we found a place to live otherwise I would have negotiated my wage more. One thing that I am really happy with is the way we have furnished the apartment and the new tv.
And now for the new year. I wont bother to call them resolutions because that never works but this is a list of things that I would like to change.
- The job situation HAS to change; either I get a nice pay rise or I find myself a new job
- I must eat more veges and fruit. I am NOT saying that I am going to diet, I am simply saying that I need to eat healthier.
- I need to find time to be more active, that is whether I walk to and from work more or simply visit that little gym in the building. After all we do pay a shit load of money for rent and the gym was one of the reasons why we justified it.
These are not so much changes I need to make but things I’d like to do or get;
- I havent seen da familia in 2 years so I would like to go to the US and possibly travel to Mexico while I am there
- It would be nice to get a car
- Maybe even finally take the big step to build a house
- I want to go to Sydney
- I need to find some kind of a hobby or just want to be good at something
- Maybe even do a course in something (if I can afford it)
- A brand new laptop would be nice as mine is pretty ancient now
- Most important I want to be happy!
